Mobility Court

A mobility court is the curb rebuilt as a designed facility for fleet-scale pick-up and drop-off: organized queuing, protected pedestrian space, and clear assignment among modes. In a parking facility:

  • Mobility courts can anchor the ground floor of a garage, converting curb chaos into managed throughput the facility monetizes.
  • For apartment buildings, the court sits at the front door at street level, separate from the parking level. Laid out as a pull-through mobility court, it lets every vehicle load and leave moving forward, so nothing ever reverses.

Considerations

  • Without consent and consultation, curb reclamation projects fail politically before they fail technically. The mobility court is what the curb becomes when it is planned instead of contested.
