Kevin Bopp has spent more than 15 years building parking and mobility programs that treat the garage as infrastructure rather than an afterthought. He is Principal and Lead Advisor at Gateway Parking Services, where he advises the Detroit Smart Parking Lab, University Hospitals Cleveland on connected mobility, and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
As CEO of Park Rite from 2021 to 2025, Kevin oversaw roughly 8,500 spaces across Detroit, Royal Oak and Ann Arbor, including event-day parking for University of Michigan football, and led the $1.2 million partnership with NextEnergy that created the Detroit Smart Parking Lab, named NPA Innovative Facility of the Year in 2023. Before that, as Vice President of Parking and Mobility at Bedrock Detroit, he ran a portfolio of more than 23,000 spaces producing over $62 million in revenue, built the MyCommute employee program featured as a World Economic Forum global case study, and ran parking for the PGA TOUR Rocket Mortgage Classic. As a founding board member and spokesperson for Project Kinetic, he helped launch one of North America's first autonomous shuttle services on public streets.
Kevin is active with the Urban Land Institute, serving on its Urban Revitalization Product Council and in technology and sustainability leadership for ULI Michigan, and co-authors a recurring column for Urban Land. He studied at James Madison College at Michigan State University. At Parkonomics he writes on parking as real estate, development economics and how the next generation of commuters will actually move.
